Established in 2018 by professional athletes, military physical training instructors and creative designers, Perium design and install bespoke premium spaces for both commercial and residential use. Whether providing for large fitness facilities or uniquely designed home training studios, their ultimate goal is to help as many people live a healthier lifestyle by providing quality products at an affordable price.
THE CHALLENGE
Low sales due to the Covid-19 lockdown resulting in gym closures.
Perium's primary source of revenue always came from their fitness studio installations. So when Covid-19 escalated and the government announced the closure of all gyms and leisure centres they were left without any clients and without any sales.The only arm of their business that would still be able to generate any revenue was their home workout equipment which they'd never promoted in the past because they hadn't needed to.How would they start selling home workout equipment when that wasn't what their brand was known for? And, more importantly, how would they sell to people who were going through times of serious financial insecurity and instability?

As an agency that offers both oragnic and paid marketing solutions, for Perium we immediately knew that the only route to take was paid. This would be the fastest way to reach people on their screens during lockdown and get our message across effectively.
Typically we would kick off any new marketing contract with a discovery workshop where we explore the client's business, goals and target audience in great depth. However with Perium losing money by the day, launching the campaign as quickly as possible was essential.
To tap into Perium's ideal target audience, we targeted the ads at people around London who had Facebook interests such as Crossfit, Gymshark, home workouts and Puregym. We then chose simple but effective ad copy that asked people if they were missing their fitness routines before offering them a solution to their problem in the form of a discount on home workout equipment.
THE RESULTS
£9,291 worth of sales from £225 ad spend
Within just three days of clicking publish on the campaign Perium had generated £9,292 worth of sales and completely sold out of online stock.
For every £1 they spent on advertising they generated £41 back and the average basket size per customer was £193. This was helped by Perium allowing users to easily customise their workout packages by adding higher ticket items such as weighted vests and weight plates.
If Perium hadn't sold out of stock our next step would have been to launch a series of retargeting ads to capitalise on the £28,000 worth of sales from people who had added to cart but not yet completed their purchases.
While the campaign was much shorter than we anticipated or hoped for, it was still a valuable lifeline for Perium during a period of extreme financial uncertainty. And not only does it show how quickly you can get results from paid marketing, it also shows that you can make sales to a cold audience if there is a big enough demand for what you're offering.
